The 2026 VFMA Board of Directors Election is now open! Click here to cast your vote. 

The Virginia Floodplain Management Association (VFMA) Board of Directors currently has four (4) positions open for election (Vice President, Treasurer, and two Representatives). Each of these positions will serve a two-year term beginning in April 2026. The voting period for this election is open and will close at 11:59 pm on Friday, April 10. Only votes cast by current VFMA members will be counted. The results of this election will be announced at the VFMA Annual Conference in Richmond April 23-24, 2026.

Nomination

The nomination period for this election is now closed. 

Roles

Vice President- Annual Conference Director

• Spearhead Annual Conference planning 

• Oversee board election with month-long application period and month-long voting timeframe in off year when President is being elected in time for results at All-Member call

• Acts on the President's behalf on their absence or as directed by the Board

Treasurer- Financial Record Keeping and Accounts Payable/Received

• Pay bills of the association 

• Verify or deposit payments to the association 
• Coordinate with Secretary to verify payments or refunds to members 
• Oversee financial health of the association and provide timely answers to Board questions, with proof if requested 
• Propose next annual Fiscal Year budget to the board at the All-Member Call

Representatives- Subject Matter Experts and/or Committee Chairs 

• Consider Committee Chair position, report out on the committee at monthly board meetings, all-member calls and the annual conference

• Contribute to Board meetings, support Board actions, and vote as a subject matter expert and representative of other non-board members

The 2026 Election Officers are Board Members Uday Khambhammettu (President), Kevin Donnelly (Secretary), and Nora Jackson (Representative).
