About VFMA
The Virginia Floodplain Management Association (VFMA) is a group of professionals representing state and federal agencies, local governments, and private firms dedicated to expanding the application of proactive floodplain management. VFMA is a State Chapter of the Association of State Floodplain Managers.
VFMA was created in 1994 to serve the floodplain management community of Virginia and held its first conference in Williamsburg. VFMA previously co-hosted the Annual Virginia Water Conference, with the Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association. Since 2021, VFMA has held its own Annual Conference in Richmond.
VFMA is a non-profit 501(c)(4) organization (TAX ID# 30-0169277).
