Annual Conference

Each year, VFMA partners with the Virginia Lakes and Watershed Association (VLWA) to host the Virginia Water Conference. This conference is typically located in the Richmond area and held in early March. The conference attracts participants from local, state, and federal government agencies, as well as the private sector. With over 400 participants attending the conferences in 2018 & 2019, it is an excellent opportunity to network with other floodplain and water-related professionals.

The Virginia Water Conference serves as VFMA’s annual conference, providing sessions focusing on current topics in floodplain management, dam safety, and resiliency. This conference includes VFMA’s Annual Membership Meeting, as well as an opportunity to take the Certified Floodplain Manager exam
