What Drives Hazard Mitigation Policy Adoption?
FEMA’s Property Buyout Program in Virginia
Virginia Tech Professor Yang Zhang and his doctoral student Qiong Wang from the School of Public and International Affairs are conducting a project about hazard mitigation policy adoption and need participants for the survey (IRB # 20-569). The purpose of this research is to collect information about the property acquisition/buyout policy adoption in floodplains. This research is funded by the Natural Hazards Center Mitigation Matters Research Program, which receives funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF). This study is part of Qiong’s doctoral dissertation research. Any input from you is extremely useful.
